BCE Business Partner network continues to grow and we’re proud to highlight a new member of our sponsor community who support enriching opportunities for Burlingame students: Malin Kansal, a longtime Burlingame resident, local business owner, and supporter of programs that help our schools thrive. We are grateful for community members like Malin who believe in strengthening Burlingame through education, local investment, and neighborly connection.

Meet Malin

Malin P. Kansal, MBA is the founder of the Malin Kansal Group at Golden Gate Sotheby’s International Realty. Born and raised in Burlingame, Malin has deep roots in the community and a strong commitment to supporting the place he calls home.

Malin and his wife, a physician, are raising their two children in Burlingame. Their son is in 1st grade and their daughter is in 4th grade at Franklin Elementary, making their family actively connected to the Burlingame School District.

What do you love most abut Burlingame?

For Malin, Burlingame’s charm comes from its unique blend of natural beauty and small-town character. “The location is phenomenal, we’re surrounded by the Bay and the ocean,” he says. “But what makes Burlingame truly special is that it still feels like a small, intimate village. The neighbors are friendly, Burlingame Avenue is vibrant, and the Burlingame Hills are a true gem.”

Despite the changes happening around the world, Malin says he is proud that the community has managed to maintain its welcoming, small-town feel.

Why supporting BCE matters?

Malin believes that strong schools are about more than just academics. That’s why he supports programs that bring music, performing arts, world languages, and physical education to Burlingame students. “My children and the entire community benefit from these programs,” he says.

The music program is excellent, and physical education is essential. Our schools need more than academics alone. When the state can’t provide everything, the community can step in and help make those opportunities possible.” Malin Kansal, Founder of Malin Kansal Group.

A message to Burlingame teachers and students

Malin encourages students and educators to continue embracing curiosity and broad learning.

“Keep bringing enrichment and new experiences into the classroom,” he says. “When students learn about the world around them, it helps all of us grow into better humans.”

A local business investing in the community

Malin emphasizes that his business is deeply rooted in the Burlingame community.

“We live here, work here, and raise our family here,” he says. “We believe in investing in our community—shopping locally, donating, and staying involved.”

The Malin Kansal Group operates from an office in downtown Burlingame, and Malin is also active in civic leadership. He serves as a Board Member and Co-Chair of the Burlingame Neighborhood Network, an organization dedicated to helping neighbors Connect, Inform, and Prepare.

The network encourages residents to build relationships with their neighbors, stay informed about disaster preparedness, and support one another during emergencies. Their annual citywide emergency drill each October has become a signature event that brings the community together around safety and resilience.
