We’re grateful to shine a spotlight on Disen Cai Real Estate Group, a longtime supporter of BCE and Burlingame Public Schools. Their commitment to our community goes well beyond business, it’s rooted in a genuine belief in giving back, supporting local schools, and helping make Burlingame a wonderful place for families to live, work, and grow.
We recently caught up with Disen and Abby Cai to learn more about their connection to Burlingame, their support of BCE, and why investing in our schools is so important to them.
Tell us about yourselves and your business.
We’re Disen and Abby Cai, and we live here in Burlingame with our baby boy, Anze, who was born earlier this year. Disen is the founder of Disen Cai Real Estate Group and has been in real estate for 13 years. Abby is the team’s Managing Director. Disen grew up on the Peninsula and attended Mills High School, so this area has always felt like home.
Today, we feel very fortunate to be building our business and raising our family in the community we love.
What do you love the most about Burlingame?
What we love most about Burlingame is the people. There’s a strong sense that families here care not only about their own homes and children, but about the community as a whole. Parents are involved in the schools, people volunteer, support local organizations, and invest their time and resources into making Burlingame a better place.
We also appreciate the sense of stability and continuity here. Burlingame has grown and evolved, but there’s still a real effort to preserve the character and sense of community that makes it such a special place to live.
Why did you first support BCE, and why do you continue?
Our involvement with BCE initially grew out of our connection to the community through our business. We work with many families in Burlingame, we live here ourselves, and over time we’ve developed strong relationships with people who are deeply involved in making the community better.
The reason we continue to support BCE has become much more personal. Now that we’re parents ourselves and are raising our son in Burlingame, we see our community through a different lens. It adds another layer to how important it is for all of us to contribute and make this a great place for children and families. We’ve also been fortunate to build tremendous trust and relationships with people here through our business. Supporting BCE is something we genuinely feel good about and believe in.

What message would you like to send to our Burlingame students and teachers ?
For students, one of the biggest things we would encourage is gratitude. Burlingame is a very special place to grow up, and there are so many opportunities, resources, and people here who care about helping young people succeed. Appreciate what’s around you, be proud of your community, and make the most of the opportunities you’re given.
For teachers, we have tremendous respect for the work you do. We also recognize how challenging it can be to be an educator in the Bay Area, where the cost of living and housing can make it difficult for the very people who serve our communities to live here. Your commitment to Burlingame’s students matters, and we’re grateful for everything you contribute.
Tell us more about how you can help BCE families
At Disen Cai Real Estate Group, we like to say that we’re in the people business. Real estate is ultimately about helping people find the right place to call home or make the right decision about a home they already own. Our role is less about “selling” and much more about consulting, educating, and guiding our clients.
After 13 years in the business, one of the biggest values we can provide is deep local knowledge combined with a current understanding of what is actually happening in the market. We want our clients to clearly understand their options, know what they’re getting into, and feel confident about the decisions they make. Once they know what they want to accomplish, our job is to execute and help fill in the gaps every step of the way — whether they’re buying or selling.
Community involvement is also an important part of who we are. Over the years, Disen Cai Real Estate Group has donated more than $550,000 to local schools, nonprofits, and community organizations.
