BCE is excited to welcome a new business sponsor to its partner network: the Kohler Store in Burlingame. Known for its commitment to design, innovation, and elevated living, Kohler is also deeply aligned with the values of our school community. We sat down with Store Manager Iryna Sokolova, a fellow community member, to learn more about her journey, her passion for Burlingame, and why supporting local schools matters.

Meet Iryna Sokolova

“My name is Iryna Sokolova, and I’m the Store Manager of the Kohler store in Burlingame.

Kohler is a brand built on design, innovation, and experience, and our store reflects that. It’s not just a place to see products, but a space where people can step in and start imagining how they want to live.

What makes this location especially meaningful is that it became the first store to open in this new downtown building. Before that, like many residents, I would pass by and wonder what it would become. Being part of bringing this space to life is something we’re truly proud of.”

What do you love the most about Burlingame?

When asked what she loves most about Burlingame, Iryna didn’t hesitate:

“It’s the people. There’s a level of care and intention here that you don’t always find.

You see it in how people build their homes, how they support local businesses, and how connected they are to the community. That same energy carries into our store—our clients are thoughtful, engaged, and genuinely enjoy the process, which makes what we do even more meaningful.”

Why do you support BCE?

For Iryna and her team, supporting local schools through BCE was an easy decision:

“Supporting BCE felt very natural to us. As a brand rooted in design and creativity, we strongly believe that programs like music, arts, languages, and physical education shape how people think, express themselves, and grow. Being able to support those programs within our own community is something we truly value.”

“We’re proud to be part of Burlingame and to support the people and programs that make this community so special.” Iryna Sokolova, Kohler Store Manager.

What message would you like to send to our Burlingame students?

Iryna shared a thoughtful message and words of encouragement for students and educators of Burlingame: “What you’re building now stays with you longer than you think. The way you learn, create, collaborate, and show up for each other becomes the foundation for everything that comes next. Keep investing in that, both in yourself and in one another.”
