Congratulations to Maya Alsanjak!

Maya earned an honorable mention in this year's Fall Drive Lawn Sign design competition.

We launched the Fall Drive Lawn Sign design contest in the spring of 2023, because we wanted to showcase the talent and creativity of Burlingame's students. One of those amazing students is Maya Alsanjak, who received an honorable mention in this year's art contest.

We loved the bright colors of Maya's artwork, created with colored pencils, and the attention to detail in using each school's colors in the composition. Maya, a fifth grader at McKinley, told us, "I chose the design because when you go to school there's one thing you can't forget, your backpack!" She added, "I decided to enter the competition to share something different to my academic skills with my artwork."

Maya's mom, Kate Alsanjak, told us, "Maya has always been very creative and spends a lot of time practicing her drawing and artistic skills. She wants to be an artist when she grows up." We think she is well on her way to achieving that goal, and are grateful of her support in celebrating the BCE community!

BCE Fall Drive kicks off our fundraising for the school year. Help us start strong by investing in our students today and receive a limited edition lawn sign to proudly show your support of your school (while supplies last)!
