This year, the Burlingame schools experienced an unprecedented level of support from the local business community, marking a significant milestone in their partnership. The generosity was truly remarkable, as evidenced by the fact that financial donations from local businesses, totaling nearly $120,000, doubled compared to the previous year. This increased level of support not only showcases the strong bond between the business community and the schools but also underscores their shared commitment to investing in the education and future of the students.
"We are so appreciative of the local businesses that have chosen to prioritize making an investment in our students and our schools," said BCE VP of Business Development Christina Funk. "Without their support, the children of our community would not have the high quality of education they deserve."
BCE thanks and recognizes all of our 2023-24 Business Partners. Without the support of these partners, we would not be able to grant the Burlingame School District the funds needed to provide each and every student with a world class educational experience. Please patronize these generous businesses and show them just how much their support of public schools means to you!
Susan Baker, President of the Burlingame Chamber of Commerce and BCE President from 1998 to 2000, knows that fostering the connections between local businesses and our schools is essential to building a thriving community. "In my role at the Chamber, I get to help the community, our economic growth with our businesses and how we can bring all the community together. I believe that the Chamber has a very large part in that and BCE, as well. I am a great supporter of BCE and their mission." She went on to add, “Businesses want to give and support our schools because they believe in education. Through the programs BCE is supporting, you are producing well-rounded children, intellectually and culturally. It is so important in the changing world to give them more exposure and more diversity.”
We are actively looking for businesses looking to partner for the 2024-25 school year. If you are interested in supporting Burlingame's public schools, we'd love to chat with you! Please email Christina Funk at business@bcefoundation.org or Eric Missildine at business1@bcefoundation.org.
