Iona was born in London and grew up in Carlsbad, California. She attended public high school, the UC Santa Barbara, and then moved to San Francisco after college. Iona and her husband, Michael, moved to Burlingame in 2018, when their first child was two years old. They chose Burlingame because of the easy commutes and the great schools.

In her professional life, Iona is a Customer Success Leader with over a decade of Talent & Program Management experience. She began her career as an assurance consultant at PwC, obtained her CPA, and moved into program management roles in PwC’s recruiting and talent management organization. She later worked at both LinkedIn and Slack. Iona has been on a career break to focus on the family since spring of 2023.

Now with three children, ages eight, four and two, Iona has loved raising  kids in Burlingame! Her girls attend McKinley, and her little guy will start Burlingame Montessori this year.

The top quality schools in Burlingame were a big factor in Iona's decision to live here. "After learning about BCE's mission, I had to get involved. Spreading the word on WHY it's important to donate and give money to the schools is invaluable," she said. Adding, "I look forward to doing my part!"

Reading, Farmers Markets, Pure Bar, yoga, running, and long walks are a few of the interests that Iona looks forward to expanding on this year as her children head back to school.
