Meet
Bani Malhotra
VP New Families
Bani and family moved to Burlingame in 2020, drawn by the great schools and the chance to raise their kids in a warm, engaged, and close-knit community. Burlingame quickly felt like home!
Having grown up in New Delhi, India, Bani has been in the US for over a decade now. Starting her career in product management, Bani led innovation and products in eCommerce and Digital strategy at Walmart and several startups. These days, Bani consults for AI-native companies, helping them build new, cutting-edge products from the ground up.
Outside of work, Bani loves being involved in the community - serving on the boards of BCE as well as CASA (a nonprofit supporting juvenile welfare), and is also a member of the Leadership Council San Mateo County Program. Teaching Bollywood dance through Burlingame Parks & Rec is one of her favorite ways to connect and have fun locally!
Bani and her husband have two young kids - a third grader and a preschooler - so they are deeply invested in the future of our schools. Bani believes in the power of community to shape a child’s educational journey, and BCE’s mission to support our schools with critical programs and resources truly resonates with her. She is looking forward to helping new families feel welcome and included, just like she was when they arrived in the district.
When not working or volunteering, Bani loves dancing, trying new (mostly healthy!) recipes, exploring Bay Area restaurants, mentoring women in tech, and going on long walks.
Fun fact:Â Bani has lived on three continents, speaks three languages, and has learned three different dance styles!
