Meet
Michelle Dow
Hoover Site Director
Bay Area native Michelle Dow grew up in Pacifica and attended high school in the Peninsula. After a short stint in Southern California for college, she returned to the Bay Area in 2005. By 2018, she and her husband Bryan were ready to make the move from the City to the suburbs. The close proximity to San Francisco, great community, awesome weather, and of course the excellent public schools made Burlingame the perfect place to raise a family.
Michelle’s interest in lending her time as a volunteer began long before PTA was an acronym she recognized. In the past, she enjoyed supporting the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society by participating in “Team in Training," and took time to work at food banks around the Bay Area. She was also on the Events Board at Little Wonders in 2021-2022, a small learning school for toddlers. When her children reached school age, Michelle took advantage of her time as a stay at home mom and “signed up for everything,” including helping with the BCE Read-a-thon.
When asked what inspired her to join the BCE Board of Directors Michelle explained how thankful she has been for all of the programs that our kids would otherwise not have access to. “People move to Burlingame because of the wonderful schools that we have, and what makes them so great are the programs that BCE helps subsidize,” she said.
Before staying at home with her three kids, Mason a 5th grader, Camden, a 1st grader, and Harper a Kindergartener, Michelle was an executive assistant in private equity.
In her downtime, Michelle loves to hangout with family and friends, go on run/walks, read, play tennis and spend time in Tahoe in the winter. To her kids, Michelle’s favorite hobby is driving all the sports carpools!
Be sure to say hello to Michelle when you see her around town!
