Meet
Scott Smith
VP Business Development
Scott Smith is an avid musician and father of two boys: kindergartener Milo at Washington Elementary, and his 3-year-old brother Theo. A California native, Scott grew up on an orange farm in the Central Valley. Throughout his childhood in the public school system and as a member of an award-winning high school choir, he experienced firsthand the importance of public arts education.
After earning a BS in Engineering at Harvey Mudd College and an MBA at Boston College, Scott joined the Bay Area tech scene in 2011. When he and his wife Christina moved to Burlingame in 2016, they knew they had found something special. "This town, more than anywhere else I've lived, truly cares for its families," Scott shares. "You see it in our beautiful parks, our wonderful libraries with their many enrichment activities, and especially in our schools. That doesn't happen by accident, but thanks to a ton of support from our amazing residents and businesses."
Scott eagerly stepped up to join the BCE board in 2025, bringing his enterprise sales expertise to the business development team. "A lot of Burlingame's strength comes from how close-knit our school community and business community are; they bolster each other in so many ways, and I'm honored to help maintain and grow that relationship."
In his free time, Scott enjoys arts & crafts, goofing at the park with his boys, and playing in the WES dads' club band, the Washington WildDads. Say hi if you see him around!
