Derek and his wife, Lena, have lived in Burlingame since 2018. They have three sons who are currently in 2nd, 4th, and 6th grade at Hoover Elementary and BIS.

Derek is passionate about building community and supporting the district however possible. After completing a recent stint as Co-President of the Hoover Elementary Social / Parents Club, Derek is excited to join BCE to help ensure the continued success and enrichment of our local schools.

Derek has had a successful career in the tech industry and is now starting a small business in the home services industry on the Peninsula.  

Outside of work and volunteering, Derek loves spending time with his family.  He’s also an avid outdoorsman who enjoys surfing, mountain biking, fishing and pretty much all other adventurous activities.
