Lisa Friedman and her husband Josh made Burlingame their home after Josh received a job transfer from Chicago to Northern California in 2012.

Before joining the BCE Board of Directors as VP of Scholars Circle, Lisa was a Read-a-thon co-chair for Lincoln in 2020 and 2021. When asked what inspired her to join the Board, she explained that she liked the idea of helping to provide a quality education for all kids in the Burlingame School District.

“An organization like BCE supports our kids and helps them achieve their full potential by allowing the district to provide unique programs and great teachers, all which would not be possible if we relied on state funding alone.”

Born and raised in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, Lisa received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Michigan State University. In addition to raising money for BCE, Lisa works for the U.S. Olympic and Paralympics Foundation, helping to raise funds to support Team USA athletes.

The busy mom of two young Lincoln Lions, 4th grader Sydney and 3rd grader Madison, enjoys her down time by exercising, walking her dog, and spending time with family and friends.
