Born and raised in the Bay Area, Raven Sarnoff spent her childhood just a few miles away, attending elementary school in both South San Francisco and Pacifica, and high school in San Francisco. She headed to Los Angeles for a short time to attend UCLA and Loyola Law School, but eventually made her way back with her “law school sweetheart,” David.
When asked why she chose to join the BCE Board of Directors, Raven explained that educating the community about BCE is key to maintaining and improving the quality of all Burlingame schools. “We moved to Burlingame specifically so our children could attend the McKinley Immersion Program,” she said. “However, we quickly learned that the great school system we moved to Burlingame for cannot be maintained without significant financial supplementation from the community,” she said.
Before taking a break from her professional career to stay home with her two girls Aubrey, a 4th grader, and Juliette, a kindergartner, Raven was an employment attorney for 15 years, representing employees in discrimination and harassment lawsuits. These days, in addition to being BCE’s new VP of Annual Campaign, Raven is also the McKinley Harvest Festival Chair.
If she had spare time, Raven likes to think she would work out. Instead,Raven loves to socialize and is looking forward to more in-person events this year. After all, there is nothing she loves more than a party for a good cause!
Be sure to say hello to Raven when you see her around town or on Zoom!
