Marc Ibanez and his wife Yinyan (Rebecca) settled in Burlingame in 2017 after living in New York, Tokyo and London. A Los Angeles transplant, Marc got a job in Santa Clara and jumped at the idea of being back in California, as well as being closer to his extended family.
Marc’s decision to join the BCE Board of Directors was made easy after seeing the level of dedication and commitment from fellow Hoover parents to provide the best possible education to all district students. “BCE is extremely important to me and my family,” said Marc. “Children deserve a well-rounded education that goes beyond the ‘normal’ academics and includes exposure to things like art, music, and library.”
In addition to being a busy dad of second grader Ethan, Marc works in the communication technology space as a marketing engineer at HPE Aruba in Santa Clara.
A graduate of UCLA, the self proclaimed “big time Bruins fan” enjoys watching UCLA sports, going on ski trips, and building Lego sets with Ethan. He also plays and watches tennis as much as possible, has attended the US Open and Wimbledon, and is eager to someday attend the French and Australian Opens, as well.
