Our next “I am BCE” profile is of Jen Liebhaber, Franklin’s BCE Site Director, who has two children in the Burlingame School District, one at Franklin and one at BIS.
So why and when Burlingame?
My husband Reid & I moved to Burlingame in 2000 to own a house in a nice town that was close to San Francisco.
Why did you become involved in BCE?
I became involved with BCE because it was a perfect fit for me. I have a lot of experience with community outreach and fundraising, and I fully support raising money that helps each and every child in our school district.
Franklin Elementary is a special place because everyone is valued — students, parents, administration and staff.
How has BCE impacted your children’s education?
Last Spring, our daughter Audrey signed up to audition for Advanced Jazz Band at BIS. It was the first time that she took that initiative, without our knowledge, to pursue something that she really loves. Her daily schedule now includes playing her trumpet in Advanced Jazz! BCE afforded her that opportunity.
What are three words your children would use to describe you:
Chatty, organized, busy
