BCE events represent a significant portion of the funds raised each year, and do more than just raise money. In the process of planning events, parents find opportunities to work with friends, expand their community, and use their many talents to support our schools. These events also help educate our community about BCE’s impact on Burlingame students. Join us!
BCE Read-a-thon (1/21/17-1/27/17): a week-long fundraiser that promotes literacy, inspires TK-8th grade students to get excited about reading, and increases awareness about BCE. Students seek sponsorships to benefit BCE and compete for classroom and individual prizes for the most minutes read. Read-a-thon donations count towards a family’s annual campaign donation.
Annual Campaign Kickoff Day (9/4/17): a day when volunteers educate our community about BCE’s mission and the positive impact our grant makes on every child in the school district. We invite parents to commit pledges and make donations to our annual campaign. The sooner and more accurately BCE forecasts donations from our parent donor base, the more volunteer resources we can focus on non-parent sources of funding. Donations made on Annual Campaign Kickoff Day or anytime throughout the year count towards a family’s annual campaign donation.
Burlingame Spirit Run (9/4/17): a community-wide 5K/10K run/walk and health expo on Labor Day that finishes at Franklin Elementary School. Race registration fees raise money for BCE but do not count towards a family’s annual campaign donation.
