About Burlingame Community for Education Foundation

The Burlingame Community for Education Foundation (BCE) is a non-profit, volunteer fundraising organization dedicated to enhancing the educational opportunities of the children of the Burlingame School District in kindergarten through eighth grade. BCE was incorporated in 1981 to fund programs no longer paid for by the state (find out more about California School Finance).

For the past 26 years, Burlingame parents, teachers, administrators, businesses and community members have supported BCE and our schools by raising money for programs that are no longer paid for through tax dollars. In fact, property tax dollars go to Sacramento and less than 50 cents of every dollar is returned to the Burlingame School District.

BCE is governed by a working, volunteer Board of Directors with representatives from the community including parents, teachers, administrators as well as local businesses. The Board coordinates our Annual Campaign and fundraising events. The allocation of funds raised is based on input from administrators, teachers and the superintendent and is approved by the elected BCE Board and the School Board of Trustees.

All BCE fundraising activities are run by volunteers, who generously give their time and skills as board members, school representatives or committee members. Please consider supporting BCE by volunteering.
