BCE’s Biggest Fundraiser of the Year Featured “Totally Awesome Prom Night” Theme

BURLINGAME, Calif., April 21, 2016 – Burlingame Community for Education Foundation (BCE) hosted their biggest annual fundraiser, the BCE Dinner Dance and Auction, on Saturday, April 16 at the Hyatt Regency San Francisco Airport in Burlingame. It was the Foundation’s third consecutive sold-out gala with 497 tickets sold.  All proceeds from the event benefited Burlingame’s TK-8th grade public schools.

The BCE Dinner Dance and Auction featured a “Totally Awesome Prom Night” theme. Guests brought their over-the-top 80’s glam with big hair, sparkly attire and their very best dancing moves for renowned 80’s cover band Tainted Love.

The event featured a multi-themed silent auction and a dynamic live auction. One highlight was the raising of more than $320,000 in ten minutes during the Fund-A-Need portion of the program, when guests raised their auction paddles to donate cash gifts in support of flexible funding to Burlingame School District. BCE estimates total net revenue from the BCE Dinner Dance and its associated auctions to exceed $500,000 for BCE Foundation and the students of Burlingame School District.

“We are thrilled with the turnout at this event, especially since it’s such an important portion of our annual fundraising campaign.” said BCE President Angela Dubovsky. “Thank you to our title  sponsor Cre8 a Couch, our generous donors, and our dedicated volunteers for supporting Burlingame public schools!”

For the first time ever, the BCE Dinner Dance and Auction had a title sponsor, CRE8 A COUCH, Burlingame’s family owned, affordable, custom luxury furniture solution.  Additionally, local businesses and individuals made generous in-kind donations of goods and services which created the auction packages.
